Title: Mechanical Designer Draftsperson (permanent/full-time)
Reports To: Engineering Sales Manager
Location: Springfield, Ohio

In 2016, Palmer Manufacturing & Supply purchased Klein Palmer Inc., a leading manufacturer of pneumatic conveying systems and special process equipment for the foundry industry. This company is growing both domestically and internationally and is searching for a qualified candidate to fill our entry level Mechanical Designer Draftsperson position. Authorization to work in the USA is required. Relocation is not available. Travel is not required.

Description:
The entry level position is part of a team effort responsible for the creation of drawings and/or sketches of the parts and systems for the equipment we design. This position works closely with our engineering and production team.

Position responsibilities:

• Prepares sketches and layouts and understands general drawing procedures.
• Prepares CAD files – AutoCAD preferred.
• Reads blueprints and understands logical progression of drawing sets.
• Ability to visualize machine parts and assembly techniques.
• Ability to use various pieces of measuring equipment and has general mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications:

• Design Associates degree or tech school certificate, or 1-2 years experience required.
• Industrial machine shop or industrial manufacturing experience required.
• Foundry operations or bulk material handling experience preferred.
• Industrial electrical and PLC programming experience preferred.
• Solidworks or CATIA experience preferred.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
